2023, Oil Paint
This piece was given to me as an old photograph, almost completely blurred out. Five images were given, slowly giving more clarity to what it was that I was painting, revealing this boy in the end. I named him after my grandfather, Robert, who was raised on a farm in Wisconsin. The melancholy feeling to this painting wasn’t something I predicted, it started with bright, almost neon colors, and became this.
